Can I live with friends, or can you match me with roommates?

You can select your roommate(s), or you can apply on your own and we can match you with other students. Applicants answer a short list of lifestyle questions to help in the matching process.

What are per-person contracts?

Instead of requiring all roommates to sign a joint lease, each person at Copper Beech has their own individual contract, with one person per bedroom. This means you are only responsible for paying for yourself — not your roommates. Even if a roommate moves out or other bedrooms in your apartment are empty, you only pay the rate for your bedroom.

What is included in the rate?

Each resident at Copper Beech pays a flat rate that includes:

  • Furnishings (optional for extra charge)
  • In-unit laundry
  • High-speed internet
  • Trash disposal
  • Community features – fitness center, etc.

What size are the apartments?

The spacious accommodations at Copper Beech Bowling Green are available in 1, 2, 3 and 4 bedroom floorplans, with a private bedroom-bathroom suite for each resident. The 2, 3 and 4 bedroom floorplans are multi-story townhomes with an extra half-bath for guests.

Are the apartments furnished?

Yes, each apartment at Copper Beech has an optional furniture package for an additional charge that includes a full-size bed, desk and chair and stackable dresser drawers. The living room comes with a sofa, chair and coffee table.

When do the contracts start and end?

The standard term is August 20, 2024 to July 24, 2025, with payments made in 12 equal installments. Limited alternate dates are available; please inquire with our staff. Click here for a sample agreement.

Is a co-signer or financial guaranty required?

Within 7 days after a Housing Agreement is signed, each resident is required to provide a qualifying guarantor (often a parent).  However, a resident may choose to prepay the final 2 installments and request a waiver of this guarantor requirement.  In limited cases, we may also waive the guarantor requirement if a resident has sufficient income of their own.

Can I pay by credit card?

Yes. Residents can pay online 24 hours per day, by credit card or ACH electronic checking. Copper Beech Bowling Green also offers automatic payment by either credit card or checking account — just fill out one page, one time and payments will be made automatically. Convenience fees apply for credit card and debit card payments.

Will my financial aid cover charges at Copper Beech?

Your living costs at Copper Beech be covered by financial aid, just like on-campus housing. Any available financial aid funds, after university charges are satisfied, are released to the student for non-institutional expenses, such as off-campus housing. These funds can be used to pay charges at Copper Beech. Normal payment deadlines will continue to apply.

Is Copper Beech Bowling Green open to non-students?

Nearly all the residents at Copper Beech are students at Bowling Green State University and the per-person contracts are also designed with students in mind. Residents/families with children are welcome. There is no extra cost for minor children in the care of adult residents, other than regular charges for each bedroom space selected by the resident. A minor occupying a bedroom space rented by a parent, guardian or person with legal custody is not considered a breach of the Housing Agreement or a violation of the rules. Copper Beech is an Equal Opportunity housing provider and welcomes applications from non-students. In order to match student roommates in shared apartments, we will request roommate consent for any non-student occupants.
